100 Black owned brands from across the country are coming together tomorrow at an exposition in Salford to put their products and services on display.
Running for the third year, BOBExpo is a free event that gives a platform to a variety of Black owned businesses, from children’s items and books to food, clothes and products for Afro and curly hair.
Monique Kufuor, who founded the event in 2018, said:
“Black business owners deserve to be in the spotlight and receive support and funding like any other business owner. Black-owned brands are unique, high-quality and the result of extremely hard work.

“I have always had a soft spot for intentionally buying from small Black-owned businesses and I would drive that extra mile to the bakers. They were everyday people with families that look just like me and I wanted to support their dreams.”
The vision for BOBExpo is for small to medium Black owned businesses to excel and gain the recognition and exposure deserved.
Alongside the stalls, the day is packed full of events including workshops, influential guest speakers, and an iconic fashion show featuring cultural wear and fashion brands.
Similarly, the popular food hall is back offering foods that celebrate Black culture including Nigerian, Caribbean, and Congolese.
The guest speakers include Kubi Springer, a brand specialist with over 23 years’ experience; Emmaunuel Asuquo, known as ‘The People’s Financial Advisor’; and Vee Roberts, founder of ‘Brand and Marketing Planner.’
BOBExpo is family friendly, with events including book readings, face painting and more.
The event is taking place at The Lighthouse Centre from 10am, there is free parking and tickets are available here.
