The annual Black Owned Business Exhibition, known as the largest shopping experience for cultural items and black businesses, will showcase over 100 black-owned brands on Saturday 6th August at The Lighthouse venue in Salford.
Monique Kufuor, Founder of BOBExpo, established the exhibition in 2018 as a frustrated mum unable to find diverse products for her children. Through conversation with others and researching the market, she found that this was a shared experience for the Black consumer, and decided to create this platform that elevates Black businesses throughout Britain.
Today, this is known as the largest shopping experience in the UK for Afro-Caribbean products and services, ranging from beauty, food, fashion and many more.
Monique, recently awarded Future List at the Northern Power Women Awards comments, “Everyone should have access to products they need and feel represented in.”
Monique is passionate about creating opportunities for easy accessibility to diverse products and services as well as being committed to motivating and enabling Black businesses in achieving their full potential, through increased visibility.
The event will be back for the 4th Year in Manchester, taking place at The Lighthouse in Eccles from 10am – 7pm. Last year, the exhibition saw over 2000 attendees, with over 100 Brands and Businesses exhibiting.
This year, the event will feature over 100 brands from an array of categories, and the organisers assure there will be something for everyone, including a food hall showcasing the best of Afro-Caribbean Restaurants, as well as a beauty corner for Afro hair and seminars.
